Its slowly becoming true.

I just read an article about a Spanish gym; it let its patrons workout naked. No, seriously, in their birthday suits! Well I don't see the purpose of it, because I like some undergarments holding my balls in place. It just shows that no matter what civilization brings to us, a better community, economy, human rights; some of us are still wanting something more natural. Its human nature to be comfortable in our first skins. Now that public places are letting us be as free as a chimpanzee, the brave would jump at the chance I guess.

Another thing that worries me, peace has never reached out to the whole world, many countries are still at war. This glutton for power and the lure of conquest will never fade from man's instinct. I have read a book about companies being able to buy a few countries and setup a new empire there. Why not, so many MNC's are richer than some countries, buying over one, developing it and making it its own market could be a future business strategy. Slowly, these empires would grow and other companies may fight to gain certain parts of the earth. Sounds a bit like ancient times where there would be empires at war with each other, with swords and bows. In the future, I assume, it would be numbers. Back then, it was the machine of war that propelled nations into glory, war technology brought them up. Right now, its more about money and economy, hence the numbers I was talking about meant money or stock; that would tell how powerful a group such as a company or any nation is. Its a new war, a war of companies, of sales and women would be the army, I guess. Buy buy buy and buy.

What else? Desperation; before every point of a spike in development or civilization, there was desperation. The need and drive that got mankind working their socks of for something better. Well, I think in the future, with all the technology, law and order, economy, work and studies, the new desperation is to break free. Like now, we hear more about rapists and the porn industry is getting bigger, there is a nude gym, private parties encouraging orgies, clubs that encourage cheating or swinging (if they really needed another name for cheating). Its the natural human instinct breaking out. I'm pretty sure you have asked yourself why is life getting more stressed. I'm 20, at the best time of my life, supposedly, and I have never felted this stressed before, when will I be desperate to be a free human being? Its the social connection between others, the common understanding of what's "cool" or "uncool" or what is now "right" or "wrong". All of that would change, just like how Bieber divided the world.

Lame Joke of The Week

Something to laugh at or ponder over,

What the dinner say to supper when they met one day?

dinner said, "hey, what'sup-ah?"

ProjectMAD...I need it to reinitiate!

Helping people and staying there just to keep them company made my day. I had a friend who's had her car battery lying dead in its groove; yes batteries die, its a sad occasion. So she asked me for a jump start, so I went to help, the mechanic was there and all he needed was the jump cable. He used it but to no avail, it was too thin, had too much resistivity to conduct any life into that dead lil thing. There was this other dude, who had the same trouble, car battery died. We waited for the mechanic to bring back his heavy duty cables.

The mechanic came back after awhile, started the car, and whoosh everyone started exiting the car park. Now these two girls, one with the faulty battery decided to go to get a new battery, and hey, this dude who just got his car alive again asked for help. With all the commotion about two cars getting jump-started by this old green Sentra, which is apparently mine, friends came to help. So the story is these few guys knows some mechanic nearby and they were willing to help the two unlucky souls; I was there, as a supporting friend.

More waiting commenced for the mechanic to arrive and to fix the two cars. When everything was set, it was time for me to head home, had a quiz to finish, my friends who could help are all home. I had to study a little bit before I got started with the quiz. How awesome was it to find out the Activities Room was locked, with my bag and stuff inside, great. Time to call for help, checked the time with my mobile only to find that it's battery had lost all its power. What next? I rushed to dinner, It's a must to eat. Tom yam was on my mind again, and so I had it. Sri Bunga, awesome shit landed there.

I wasted no time after eating, I was back home in three minutes; switched on the computer, set-up the quiz and asked for some friendly online help. More pure unjust luck, Streamyx crapped in my foxhole; it disconnected. Waited I did, and when finally I got to get back online, I had 35 minutes left on the clock, but thank Angga he was there. For some reason, my genius friend could tell me the answer of each question in a few seconds, brilliant. We finished with 10 minutes to go. ">So finally a blog post on the Education System of Malaysia.. Though, this is no usual rant and complaint you have heard from any parent. Screw the timing, screw the syllabus, screw the Bahasa Malaysia or English compromise. What's more important is the outcome; and that ain't good.

Not only does our formal education inhibits our creativity but the ability to dream big, to follow our ambitions, to prove, how smart we really are. The syllabus by itself is a drag for the students, but, the way it is taught makes it worse, the stress cause by the thought of the coming Public Exam, made it a kettle of water pouring into a larger pot of boiling oil (please, do not try this at home). There's nothing to blame here except ourselves.

First of all, the core subjects, English & Math; compared to many other nations, we have the slowest bloody syllabus for a country as modern as ours. The pain is when the last three years (Form 4, 5 & 6), everything is rather cramped up; making complacency and sudden accumulation of stress a common enemy. Still, as we head out into a private university, some students are no match. It does not make any sense. What's more stressful? the addition of new subjects (after streaming) during the years which these cores are "crammy".

Bio, Chem and Physics in two years for me was fun, though, it could have been more fun, I mean, the practical work that we got were all boring. The teachers are usually afraid that we may break something or the school does not have enough apparatuses. So, at an average, the sciences were boring, coming into Form 4, it was already stressful having the thought that SPM was at the end of the next year. For a sixteen year-old, it ain't fun. All we needed was a different approach to learning, once in awhile. Is it bad for all teachers to used one simple and fun way if it is effective? I wonder what do the teachers do in conferences?

STPM was the next likely (supposedly) step for a Malaysian. But no, it is not, its not popular because its just unnecessarily difficult, waste of one and a half years and it does not prep people for university. It's funny how you learnt so much but other people from say, foundation courses, do better. Its a do or die situation, 5 or 4 A's or you won't get to do what you really want to do. The other problem is, you'd have no idea how to do research papers and assignments the way universities want you too, so no matter how smart you are, you might just get stuck.

I think formal education drains the creativity and the ability to think from our brains; as it was mostly used for memorizing things. It had brainwashed into a community who does not criticize properly, foresight-less, and a follower of any system. Like our days in school, if we didn't like it, we'd complaint amongst our friends and throw insults at our teachers or talked behind their backs. Looks fucking similar in the whole country; political situations, religious compromise, human rights, and quality or living and service; if we have a problem, we tolerate, but tolerance has its limits you see.

For people in the creative field, after getting out of school, they'd never feel the same about creating things; "finally, the freedom, but I feel rusty, and my vision is boxed in". Many have great talent you may argue, but can they do their potential best. Just maybe, if their skills were sharpened at an early age, they'd would have the thought and experience to do better.

They say it is difficult to find what you love. It's different actually, I think it is difficult to keep loving or in love with something. Like for me, I always had a fascination in Particle Physics; sounds big, but its something I am interested in; people around me weren't dreaming as big and formal education had boxed me in. I'd just waste my time if I learnt art or biology but I did it, and liked it, hence, indecisiveness. Many people are like that all over the world. Our brains are used up by things that do not really matter. What's the good in being knowledgeable or an all-rounder when you still do not get to indulge in an interest.

I hate that Chinese mentality about getting a good job for money, hence a good marriage and then a good life. Somehow, it's stuck in every teenager's mind; although I am not a conformer and hated to be one, there's no choice, I had to compromise. If I had a choice, Particle Physics under some willing professor... but no, I need formal fuckeducation.

Practice makes perfect;

So theoretically, if a student loves design and follows a path that leads here there, doing design all the way, having surface knowledge of important things; she'd be a better designer than a girl who'd studied biology, chemistry and physics until college?

If that's true, formal education is just conned up........

BTW, why the hell does the art stream in Malaysia not have design or proper art? Or even art classes that thought the techniques of drawing and painting rather than "Here's an art block, do something nice".

CM 2008

Championship Manager 2008 has been keeping me busy...so many things to blog about with so many happenings..but CM2008 is what I'm gonna do...

Another Attempt at Being Nostradamus...

So Nostradamus' paintings suggests that there will be a man, an anti-Christ who would start the end of the world or at least be another factor.

So I thought, maybe its Nostradamus himself, making everyone believe in his visions of such future or an inevitable end; besides, during his time, as he wrote such predictions and drew such paintings, he was almost an anti-Christ himself. This is true as watching the television has become such a daily routine for most people; especially in most children who spend more time watching the television than any other activities, besides sleeping, (according to kidshealth.org). Besides, the television also has the same influence on the older generations. Thus, it is obvious that the television can pose as a negative influence and have adverse effects on our society; because firstly, the television was responsible of racism and stereotyping late in the past millennium; secondly, it depicts risky behaviours in youngsters; and finally, the television may cause health issues.

The first example can be the part played by the television in the question of racism. Barker (2003) suggested that people of colour was simply neglected by the television or film producers. Until the new millennia the number of African Americans in TV shows was significantly low. This suggested that somehow the white Americans were ignorant of the black people and their culture. This causes racism to spread. Even with the introduction of programs that feature African-American cultures, such as the TV show, Amos ‘n’ Andy, the programs symbolized the degradation of black people and their culture (Barker 2003). Besides that, the TV had also been guilty of stereotyping. With respect to that, Bernstein (2002) suggested that audiences tend to accept these images and perceptions of the media without question. For example, as written by Medhurst (cited in Barker 2003) the famous English TV show, Mind Your Language used stereotypes to get popularity. Therefore, it is certain that the television had played its part in racism and stereotyping.

Moreover, the television encourages risky behaviours in the youngsters. It is certain that without strict control form parents, kids and adolescents would spend too much time in front of their television set. In relation to that, a survey showed that 5 out of 8 kids say that their peers were influenced by the TV shows. Consequently, according to parentstv.org, the television alone is responsible of 10% of youth crimes in America and studies have shown that watching sex on the television directly influences a teen to have sex. The 10% of youth crimes may seem little in percentage but in actual figures, it is an immense number. Furthermore, parentstv.org also revealed that 1 out of 4 adolescents whom had premarital sex were diagnosed with Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). These numbers clearly show that the television is spoiling our young generation.

Lastly, there are many who argue that the television is just a safe source of entertainment, relaxation time, or extra information. This is only true to a certain extent, as these beliefs can lead to health defects. Here is how; a normal person would have his left-side of his brain (for logical and analytical thinking) almost switched off when watching the TV, to allow the right-side of the brain to function as we imagine and fantasize more. Besides that, endorphins, hormones that induce happiness are released when we tend to use our right-brain more. Hence, making us want to watch more as our minds are in a happy and relaxed state. Watching more television would then increase our weight because the television also, somehow promotes intake of sugary and fatty foods and lessens the time spent on exercises. As a result, more people would suffer from obesity and diabetes and could be fatal. In addition, children can also suffer from such health problems. Also, sleeplessness which can affect one’s health and emotional status -such as, depression and fatigue- can be caused by addiction to television. Thus, it is obvious that the television has a part to play in our societies overall health and fitness.

In conclusion, like other forms of modern media, the television has many adverse effects on the society. However, its popularity has made the majority had overlooked all of its potential dangers.

New Year Celebrations, a con...

New Year's Eve, a day to celebrate by crowding in an area and proving that you can count backwards; while some get high in gunpowder smoke, others reach a euphoric (sort of) state with head tilted backwards and a dropped jaw, looking at colorful light bursting into circular patterns in the sky.

For some reason, I have been thinking, why do new year countdowns and fireworks happen in most malls? MONEY. It's a bloody con, you are expected to get there early to avoid a jam, so you'd sit somewhere and have a meal or shop a bit. Well, if the malls are doing it, clubs and all might as well pounce on this chance to get some profits too! However, how much of this news is true? For this reason, researches have shown that the newspapers have adverse effects on the society; firstly, because newspapers can provoke unnecessary fear among the public about infrequent dangers; secondly, news presented by newspapers can have negative influences on the publics’ as it can change the public’s perception of events; and finally, newspapers can offer readers a “false choice” as the news can be chosen by other parties besides the publisher.

Firstly, newspapers have become such an influence on the public that it can provoke unnecessary fear in most people. These fears are mostly the fear of crime and the fear of natural disasters; both, in actual fact, are rare events. Most of the public now is ever fearful of the fact that they might get mugged or killed for money; being abducted, raped or killed by a big wave. Although these unfortunate events may be a rarity in reality, it is not necessarily the case for the newspaper readers. Williams and Dickinson (1993) revealed with a survey that newspapers tend to publish more articles on crime and dramatic events such as natural disasters and rape cases. This makes readers think that the dangers are close to home and happen regularly, as they are reminded time and time again. Hence, news articles project a perception that the events have happened seem to happen more frequently. For example, the newspapers published more about the likelihood of another tsunami hitting South East Asia, as the news was popular then. News is obviously exposed to misrepresentation, as everyday events cannot be reflected by newspapers (Williams & Dickinson 1993). Thus, the newspaper can instill unnecessary phobias in people.

Besides that, newspapers are often written in different ways and causes misinterpretation; as writers can plant emotions and biased views into its readers just by changing the style of writing. The way news is written can be so influential that Quinney (cited in Curran 2002) suggested that an individuals’ perception of crime may vary due to the different newspaper he or she reads. This can be harmful to the society when/as newspaper companies are owned by different radical groups or individuals, or sometimes opposing political parties in the same country. It is also stated in Curran (2002), that actions have been taken and put into practice to ensure the media’s support for the dominant government and private interests. Hence, newspaper companies can be used to bring about among the public, negative thoughts, anger or false impressions by articles. For instance, the demonstration that started due to the capture of Hindraf representatives; the newspapers produced news articles with pictures of water cannons firing at the crowd, which may have depicted the demonstrators as criminals. Therefore, it is certain that the newspaper can cause misinterpretation by the public.

Finally, most readers may think that the newspaper is a complete, precise and convenient source of information. Readers tend to think that all news are of truth and covered everything relevant to our world. This is false, because newspapers are often influenced and their posts mediated by the state government, in each newspaper. Curran (2002) revealed several ways that governments use to get broadcasting or the main advertisers they want, such as laws and regulations, censorship and licensing of a publisher. Advertisers too can control the newspapers as money and sponsorship is a key survival tool for newspaper publishers. For instance, if other companies are not comfortable about placing their advertisements in it; the publishers will suffer large losses, thus closing down due to bankruptcy. This forces publishers to overwhelm their newspapers with popular articles and do not have space for other unpopular news, which maybe crucial or important to a certain society. Important news, such as civil wars in Africa does not have much popularity or coverage because the publishers and its partners do not have influence over African countries. Therefore, it is true that newspapers have outside parties that control their posts and choose the posts for their readers; giving the readers a false choice.

The newspaper is more than meets the eye of an average reader. We can conclude that although the newspaper is a crucial source of information, nevertheless, it can also be of negative influence to our society. What is worse is that most of the public do not notice these ill effects.

Laughable Epiphanies

Something you'd ponder over or laugh at

"If you ever, accidentally stepped on some powdered charcoal; do not move or you'd be a topic for UN to talk about in Copenhagen, for leaving behind carbon footprints...

Hope your foot size ain't too big"

-Phoon Chi Kit-

Internet; a bad thing. Slowly but indefinitely though, negative issues arouse about its safety and the freedom it provides to the society. Hence, the Internet can be termed as a negative influence because it encourages unhealthy social behaviours, divides nations, and allows unethical usage.

Internet advancements suggested that there are no boundaries to what you can do in an online environment. Though there are boundaries now (online laws), yet, many still seek ways to cross them. As such, Flew (2005) suggested that the internet has given the opportunity for one to play, create deception of, and adopt many other personas. Subsequently, there are people who try to pose as other people to gain some sort of advantage and others just to have fun. Having an impostor in the system can build negative issues. Jordan (cited in Flew 2005) wrote about a girl who chose to have gay male sex online in South Miami Beach, Florida, USA (where the gay community was large) just for kicks. Besides that, there were many cases of rather “fake” medical specialists causing their mentally or physically ill patients more traumatized (Jordan 1999). This virtual environment is unhealthy for the social well-being of humans.

The Internet is the largest source of information and news. On the other hand, it is also the largest source for explicit media. For example, there is, pornography. In this case, the most unethical use of the Internet is the spread of child pornography. Any images, video of a child’s body or child portraying sexual acts is child pornography (Ost 2002). “Extreme hardcore child pornography may include images of the infliction of sadistic, physical harm to the child and occasionally, may even end in the child’s death,” Pierce (quoted in Ost 2002). Not only that, the spread of pornography through the easily accessible Internet, is also highly unethical itself. This is because the Internet is open to the whole public; young and old. Especially for the youngsters, pornography is no doubt a bad influence.

Many argue that the Internet is a stepping stone to globalisation. However, the Internet has become more of a divider of nations. This is because ICT technologies take longer time to be transferred to other parts of the world. The technology of computers and the rapid advancements of the internet have played the biggest part in dividing the world while many others think that it is the first step towards globalisation or a world without borders. This is called the Digital Divide; where digital mass media creates inequalities of access to different Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that is cause by social, economical and geographical inequalities (Flew 2005). The most tremendous digital divide is between the First World economies and lesser economies (Flew 2005). As proof; “A North American child is 19.5 times more likely to have internet access than a child from the Asia Pacific, 28.5 times more likely to have internet access than a child from Latin America, and 195 times more likely to have internet access than a child from Africa” (Flew 2005). These statistics were taken several years ago but this tells us a bit about how divided the world was at that time. As the internet and computers being one of the fastest growing technologies, it can be deduced that slower countries will have too much catching up to do -compared to those countries that allow faster logistics or technology transfers and at the same time have the infrastructural capability and compatibility to install such technologies-. As a result, divides the world further.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://uselessepiphanies.blogspot.com/2009/12/at-first-internet-was-used-just-as.html' title='Internet; a bad thing. A catastrophe may happen, but more people will survive cause there are many people much smarter than the Americans in emergency situations. Though, if 2012 is "the end of the world"; I believe that many species would survive and thrive later including humans. The term "end of the world" I assume would be segregation of communities of humans in different places, far away without means to communicate so in the survivors eyes, end of whatever world they remembered being.

Why earthquakes and asteroids? Why not Earth losing its magnetic shield? Apparently, the Earth's magnetic field changes or flips.. ">Almost everyone knows Facebook and it has reached 50 million users 2 times faster than the Internet. It may become the largest social networking site in the world. It can also be the largest collection of random popular videos, links social quizzes. It is amazing to see such great volumes of information in one site; mix of ideas, jokes, quotes and comments; a cauldron of creativity and self-inspired expressionism..Actually, the first time I heard about Facebook, I thought it was a catalog for plastic surgery patients.

There are a few mind boggling things about Facebook I don't really understand..

First of all, to ignore a post or request, we need to check who it was from and then, we click on the ignore button. Now, here's a question, why do we have to do so much to "ignore" something? Can't we just literally ignore it, but no, as it may annoy us every time we open the homepage.

"Facebook, the site where you

need to give a damn, to ignore something."

Secondly, I find it very amusing to ask for comments from a person about something. It forces them to reply something pretty amusing like "No Comment". I find it funny to type out "No Comment" and click on the "Comment" button. Don't you think its funny?

"Facebook, the chatroom of comments..."

-really, I think its the most reliable multi-participant chatroom-

Facebook amuses me. Besides these funny issues of nonsensical buttons and ways people use this site, are the funny games. Being a zoo tycoon or the owner of an airline company is just a few clicks away!

Not forgetting the way we use the comments application as a chatroom; I think Facebook would soon be the most effective group chatroom in the Internet. Other than that, they should have more features for posts such as "WTF", "OMG", "LOL" and "WTF SO RANDOM" buttons to ease users so they would not go through so much trouble to post it as a comment. E.g: "Phoon Chi Kit has reacted to your status with a "WTF, So Random!".

<div blue;">A few days ago, my bro came back home and told me he got robbed. For a second I thought he'd lost everything in his pocket and his arm or something; I asked "where?"

He was robbed at a pub, by a bunch of masked machete wielders. My bro said they were Indians -who do not know how to take care of their weapons- as their machetes were rather rusty. For once I was proud of my juniors in the 10th Petaling Troop for having better equiptment. These robbers were rather nice, they let the customers of the pub (whom they robbed from) have their wallets back. "Good Samaritans". They were rather desperate and patient too; some of the customers actually threw their money on the floor just to watch those pathetic robbers kneel and pick up the money. One more thing, how are they gonna kill with a rusty machete? might just shatter if one were to retaliate using another metal object, right?

Sigh..What has the world become? So desperate and pathetic some people can be. This saddens me down to my balls. The world is or rather Malaysia is producing more and more bollocks.

6 to 7 men; masked; wielding machetes, rusted machetes (still laughing at that fact); 6 to 7 more getaway motorcyclists...Seen them before? I heard of a cyber cafe and a coffee shop being robbed by a group of people that fit that description but I haven't seen a single newspaper post on it, or maybe it was hidden somewhere in there.

So guys, and girls, beware; rusty machetes not only will injure you but it also increases your chances of getting "sawan babi"...keep a look out for these bastards and report them to the police quick!

Joke of the Week...

Something you'd laugh at or ponder over..
A random spark of lameness in the midst of an IM conversation..

Josie says:
brb!
Chi Kit says:
but i play left back since my team lacks left footers..

Yea, you get it..It's very the L-word...=)

DID YOU KNOW?

These are very awesome videos; There are many slightly more liberal, and open minded people; who sometimes seek justice for their fellow Indonesians who were ill treated. It is true some that Malaysians treat Indonesians quite badly and stereotyped them as criminals and all, but this is the consequence of stepping into another country; especially in a large number and in desperation.

What Malaysians did wrong was to stereotype each Indonesian as a criminal, or illegal foreigner or anything like that. It is also wrong to stereotype we Malaysians as a bunch of bullies. Both blardy sides are wrong and the only way to resolve this issue is that both parties work together.

It is in the individual and not nationality that makes the person steal or kill. Though one's nationality would influence different needs and wants of that individual, but the choice of doing crime is all in their personality. So why blame Indonesia? More than half of the Indonesians I met are normal people. Those who were abused is a small figure compared to the number of Indonesians here.

On the other hand, why blame Malaysians? Not all of us are bullies and cultural thieves. Though, in many cases, Indonesians were caught, but that's because they broke the law. If they were caught for nothing and punished for nothing, once again, just blame stereotyping. We, Malaysians and Indonesians share so many things in common so why bother fighting?

Firstly, most Indonesians who come to work are desperate so they may have to resort to committing crimes and may be forced to do unwanted things; normal human nature I guess. On the other hand, Malaysians think that these individuals are good labour. Its a stale-mate.

Once again, I reiterate my stand that we shall not stereotype people from other countries. Because that just makes smart and civil people angry; and therefore, insulting the stereotypist..

Someone Out There Really Hates Malaysia..

Today's post will be about stereotyping and unnecessary Public Display of Stupidity..

I have found this blog written by someone (he's from Indonesia) deeply in loathe with Malaysia, and posts "disgustingly" about Malaysia. Although certain posts had the essence of truth in it, it was all spoiled by the blogger's childish remarks and imaginations of what he thinks Malaysia is. Poor Malaysia. My blood was boiling as I read the "self licking blogger's" posts, that fellaa had so much anger, resentment and just pure "cow dung". I guess, Indonesia and Malaysia are meant to share the certain cultures because the two countries where so closely related and the fact that it was apart of "The Kepulauan Melayu". It was a misunderstanding of traditional cultures; by Discovery Channel (from America, one country that does not know crap about ASEAN countries).

I found his blog through a friend who linked the blog in Facebook...after a few comments, this random girl commented that she'd support this dude who wanted to "whack" Indonesians; so it seemed. This dude just wanted that "cucumber in the butthole" to bleed, not Indonesians. The girl was caught red-handed for being a racist and stereotypist. haha...she got a lecture right away from the dude and I about how we should not judge a whole country by one man or one event, just as the "blogger" did and so It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It can occur any person from any community or society and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate, relate to others and also the ability to learn like an ordinary person.

Autism spectrum disorders can usually be reliably diagnosed by age 3, although new research is pushing back the age of diagnosis to as early as 6 months. Parents are usually the first to notice unusual behaviors in their child or their child's failure to reach appropriate developmental milestones. Some parents describe a child that seemed different from birth, while others describe a child who was developing normally and then lost skills. These lost of skills or difference described by parents are usually learning a social disorder.

Although parents may have concerns about labeling a toddler as "autistic," the earlier the diagnosis is made, the earlier interventions can begin. Currently, there are no effective means to prevent autism, no fully effective treatments, and no cure. Research indicates, however, that early intervention in an appropriate educational setting for at least two years during the pre-school years can result in significant improvements for many young children with autism spectrum disorders

-adapted from ProjectM.A.D.(Project: Making A Difference)-

Many famous inventors and artists are autistic. Compared to this dude, I'm a just a nut. This post is to hail the King of Sprint, World's Fastest Man, Usain Bolt. I bet you think he runs really fast, why yes, he does run very very fast. In fact, he was amazingly fast in his last race, which he shattered his own World Record in both the 100m and 200m. If you did not see it...

Thnx Youtube!

Usain Bolt did what was thought to be impossible in athletics, 100m in less than 9.6 seconds. Though, I was more amazed with the way he ran and how far he was from the rest, especially in the 200m finals.

Firstly, as a person that tall and lengthy, he has the most impressive start off the blocks to my opinion, it's also quite a different technique but was it was used to nicely suit his lengthiness and power. The best I have seen maybe the STARTS of his compatriot, Asafa Powell. Besides his starts, look at him power out the curve in the 200m. It's pretty difficult to run the curve as fast as yourself on the straights when you're tall; even at 172cm, its tough; and this guy is 196cm?
Next, he also has an extraordinary power to weight ratio for someone his height. To push that hard going off the blocks amazes me every time I saw the video. I think he took one or two steps less than Tyson Gay -who was pretty good off the blocks too- in the first ten meters. That proves his power.
Lastly, his ability to keep accelerating till 80m is almost impossible, this dude is a very fit dude -kudos to Tyson Gay who did something like that too-. Normal sprinters only reach 50m-60m before maintaining their speed. Like Bolt said, his best part of the race is the last part of the race. That's because when others stop accelerating, he wouldn't, and when others slow down before the finish line, he's just to fast to be able to do that (based on his 9.58s run).

That makes him a World Record holder and would change how professionals see athletics and its potentials. I think he works on his training like a slave. haha. 3 hours a day, 6 days a week; that is tiring. To improve on such a good timing, requires lotsa hardwork. And from what I can see, he may be able to break his own record next year or two..That'll be fun..

Lighting Bolt is his nickname, but if he was American, it'll be USA in Bolt. hahahaha. Oh and Kannathasan -old friend and 4x100 teammate- reminds me of him.

-Views from someone whose had four years of sprinting and athletic training in school (who learns from it and does a bit of research)-

Lame Joke of the Fortnight!

something you'd either laugh at or ponder over..

1957...
Malaysian - Or maybe "silent night"; that's alright to sleep in. So, those of you who read this, be kind to your family and friends and wish them a comfortable night, or silent night so they'll sleep tight.

I kept thinking when it'll be a real goodnight, really, I haven't had a good night in a long time..(hahaha, don't think dirty now) ;p . Malaysia, supposedly a peacefully country, is in this kinda mess? Whatever those people did, local or not local just disgusts me. An indian temple there would not hurt anyone right? Can't we just tolerate other religions like how I learned to stand the "noise" at 6 in the morning?

My bro said:

The last time a severed head was brought into a measly confrontation, our rivers ran red with blood.

Anyone remembered anything like that?

Crazeologies Reinitiating..

EMO TALKS..
To the very few who knew about what Crazeologies were..there's a hint here that my mind is turning back to it..Although I have forgotten much of my Crazeologies, it is time to start all over. I remember one tho, for life is like a river..

Sometimes, being alone helps you more than trying to find someone to talk to. Now I realized why the Outward Bound School let the participants go on a solo camp to reflect on themselves. It's amazing how it works; it was more like important epiphanies; flashes of answers to questions you never thought you would ask yourself about. Nonetheless, there's always a useless epiphany in my head, to share with y'all this sad, emotional time I'm having.

Anyways, that alone time I spent out by myself, somehow made me realized all the mistakes I have made in my life; and I'm still having flashbacks..grrrr. The good part is, this accidental self-reflection only made me more eager to live and never regretted those blardy mistakes. AWESOME, wait, maybe I do regret certain things. But "What The Hacks", what's so big about "gret" that makes "regret" so bad?

I think that people approach others, especially their best friends or certain friends to find answers they themselves want to hear. They would approach people whom they know would ease them of their troubles or give advice they want to hear. Even for people to ask for a way to better themselves or to ask for an honest opinion, it is all for their own sake. Everyone wants what they want and do things for their own benefit. I have to confessed that I am too, like that, then I realize, there's no changing what is not physical.. Think about this...

Headaches are a good way of getting outta that "funky reflecting period" as I'm having one now. That's all I can emo about, sorry for wasting your blardy time; and my time too. Thanks for reading =); its about all the courtesy I can come up with.

LAME JOKE OF THE WEEK...

something you'd either laugh at or ponder over..

"I think the English are generally very strong people; actually I think, they are extraordinarily strong. Truly asia and unique, but still, we Malaysians often settle for innovations from the far west, the far east and as far from the equator as possible. Some technology just can't work efficiently here. For example, convertible cars, powerful cars, umbrellas, highways, latest fashions and many more!

Developed countries just aren't the same as Malaysia. Furthermore, the weather here affects many things but Malaysians never thought of adapting to it; instead, we think that it's just something we have to live with; typical Malaysian thinking. More research and engineering should be done to make Malaysia better. So, how does that relate to 9/11 terrorist strikes? Apparently the four patients diagnosed with the rare cancer had worked at the 9/11 ground zero.

Two of them spent many days in the rubble (one in the rubble "dumpsite" at some dumping island) and the other two, spent only a fortnight there. Unlucky they really are. Who would know helping the U.S. of A would kill them? Actually, I do, but hey, they're Americans..Though, I'd never thought such a thing would happen. Cancer of the immune system? They all have a condition called multiple myeloma..very rare in ppl under the age of 45. In fact, only one patient from that age group was diagnosed with this cancer ever, in the world's history. I know wearing a mask is not the most suitable and fashionable way to match your face with your clothes but its for the sake of others; especially ppl close to you (not including ur loved ones who are at home).

But somehow, Malaysians are just, -searching for a word- well, MALAYSIANS. I was in an elevator with another couple; this lady wearing a mask came in and the couple, got worried and moved away from the poor lady (who was just trying to be a good citizen); not only that, the couple covered their mouths and noses and staring at the lady as if she had bathed in piss.

I was annoyed. So, I looked at the lady, smiled and signaled to her to not bother about the couple. LMAO. When ppl use masks, you don't really need to cover your holes anymore, cause if the masks do not work, you think your hands would? -Jamie Oliver wasn't talking about H1N1 prevention when he told the TV world that "our hands are the best filters". -

I thought that the lady did her job as a civilized Malaysian; I shall not describe the couple...My point is, if you have the symptoms take precautions like wearing a mask or staying at home (not till the extent of infecting your family). Take initiative, we are Malaysians heading towards a brighter future and Wawasan 2020. Humans develope nations, therefore our brains must "develope" first or our nation won't.

Introduction

from a brainstorm leading to random brain droppings, resulting in one brainchild of mine (not a Guns & Roses song), this blog! Just like what most of us would do to fliers distributed in public areas; throw it in a recycling bin, no wait, -we don't do much recycling here- the drain or the closest place we find dirty enough for trash. So, when reported deaths hit the newspapers, everyone goes havoc and starts getting all worried. So now, a helpful group of young community loving teens cant get to do some "community helping". Yes, I was apart of that group, you caught me. Therefore, I repeat, its an a$$ of a virus, no wonder H1N1 looks like "HINI" when handwritten -which can be pronounced like "HINEY"-.

Influenza A(H1N1) .... People suffering from this virus attack can die of other diseases including a normal flu and guess what, there's great resemblance between the normal flu and this H1N1; so, ppl die thinking its just a normal flu. Yet, we Malaysians were so comfortable going around in public places making contact with random and likely infected ppl just a few weeks ago, while numbers for infected patients started to rise in Malaysia. Now, there are 13 deaths (06/08/09). Some people even thought their late family members were just having the typical flu, so they didn't bother to get themselves screened. They would have only lost ten points in a game show for a wild guess like that, but in reality, they'd lost a life and maybe caused others their lives too due to contageous infection. Kudos to them!

So, ppl living on Earth, please be notified, check yourseves and check again to see if you have the virus. Its just unfortunate and coincidental that there's another virus going round, it ain't Influenza A(H1N1) but its no reason for you to not check yourself; now please dont flatter yourselves in front of the mirror. Remembering the late Mike Jackson's song - Man in the Mirror; "if u wanna make the world a better, go and check yourselves at the nearest clinic".

I also read about the health ministry limiting throat swabs for suspected patients, great way to curb the virus eh.. this pregnant woman had difficulty breathing after catching a flu for a few days but the nurses told her she couldn't get a throat swab because she did not fully (100%) fit the criteria to get tested.. Way to go Doc's, you could have killed two there; how sick has the mother and her soon-to-be born child got to be to get tested? Sick enough so the test results would confirm their cause of death? Lucky enough, this family were a smarter bunch, took themselves to a private hospital for treatment and survived to tell TheStar their story. Quoting the article's last 3 paragraphs:

How ironic when I read last week that the Health Minister said the latest directive was to have all high-risks groups treated really fast although they had yet to be confirmed with the influenza A (H1N1) virus.

To improve the identification of patients infected with the virus, he said a new set of guidelines would be issued to doctors on how to “increase the index of suspicion of patients with influenza A (H1N1)”.

Only now after the disease has spread and the casualty number has increased are we talking about early detection!

Really, I'm just pissed at how Malaysia was handling this when it started, especially after hearing what officials had to say when the number of deaths started rising. Other countries would be laughing at us going "I told you so!". Where were the notifications? I didn't see it in the newspapers, I saw notifications around my college but is that enough? What about he schools that were closed down, did any information get through to students there? What's the use if our leaders controlled the media? All the news we got was about a man's death and how it suddenly relates to racial tension, and how one party disses the other (which disses me instead) but not about a worldwide pandemic...What The Fenomena ?(WTF?) Papers should have reached out to most ppl, if not, Astro would. The government licensed Astro, use it for the good of the country for Malaysia's sake!
